![]() Today I had a discussion about Pinterest for Business with a good friend and inspiring Business Woman about her business and how Pinterest could benefit her company and benefit the companies whose products her business promotes, which led me to write a series of articles on Pinterest for Business to help those new to pinning or those not sure if the pretty pinboard craze can benefit their company. So What Is Pinterest? Basically it is a page that resembles an old fashioned corkboard of postcards, photos and attractive images, all assembled by the user. Pinterest has a home page with a "Feed" much like all other social media sites although this is also displayed in pinboard form. Users pin images from sites they love, other pinterest user's boards or their own websites to create "Boards" which are basically lists of catagorized pins, e.g. Modern Office Furniture, Cup Cake Designs, Wedding Dresses, Pretty Stationary etc. So you are wondering if Pinterest can benefit your business? Well the answer is YES it certainly can. You are only limited by your imagination. Remember all pinterest images link back to an original website... think of all of the images you currently have on your website or blog and the endless amount of links these could create if pined to many diferent Registration for Pinterest is easy, either use an existing Facebook or Twitter Account for easy sign up or sign up with your email address. On your initial Pinterest visit, it will ask you to create a minimum amount of pins to get you started - these can always be deleted or changed later on. Complete all of your information and you are on your way. Using Pinterest for Business will be a different approach to that of what you may Pin for a personal account. This is something to keep in mind when choosing to represent your business or company on pinterest. It's best to keep most posts relevant to your work or a particular theme. If you have an existing Pinterest account you can now convert it to a Business Account on Pinterest. Basically the layout is the same except you can now have your website and description listed below your profile name and there is no doubt that future business features will be rolled out in the near future. More information on this to come in my soon to be released downloadable e-article on Pinterest for Business. by J Gray Blue Bird Internet Marketing www.bluebirdinternetmarketing.com
