![]() A few year's ago when businesses all got on board the Facebook Page Frenzy, many were unsure how to go about introducing their page or product to others and went about it the wrong way by liking other pages, and then proceeding to "crap" all over the other businesses' pages with posts about their own business. Needless to say this was most annoying and unwanted by professional business owners who had pride in the appearance of their business pages on Facebook. Well today I discovered that this practice of "seagulling" (Term created by the fabulous Karen Gunton from Build A Little Biz) sadly still exists. After a weekend off over Easter I discovered two posts from another business on my page, marketing their own page with no purpose other than to somehow get me to "pop over and like their page"?? No Thanks! "Spam is meant for a can... so keep that shit off my page" John O'Callaghan Other Options other than Seagulling: There are many ways in which you can use Social Media to gain a larger audience, but "crapping" on pages is unacceptable and will turn businesses away or most likely inspire them to block or report you to Facebook which could result in a temporary ban or closure of your Facebook Page - not the result you were after! Gotta love those seagulls! It still amazes me after so much information is out there these days on FB etiquette that people still do this!
